Clyde Classic Volunteers

Meet the Clyde Classic Ambassadors

Locals leading the way on and off the course

This year we’re proud to introduce our Ambassador team, a group of locals who live and breathe community, movement and the spirit of Clyde. They’ll be running alongside you on race day, showing that the Clyde Classic is for everyone, from athletes to teachers, parents and youth leaders.

Kate is a much-loved teacher at Clyde Primary, inspiring the next generation daily. When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her running the trails around Central. This November she’s lining up for the Half Marathon

We asked why are you excited to participate in Clyde Classic?

“I’m thrilled to take part in the Clyde Classic Run this year! As a teacher at Clyde School, it’s incredibly rewarding to support our school while enjoying the beautiful local trails around Clyde. By signing up you are supporting Clyde School, so a huge thanks to you!

Here’s to a fun, mildly paced and hopefully injury-free run!

See you at the start line

Marley Ferguson

Lead Youth Worker, Puna Rangatahi

10km

As a youth leader with Puna Rangatahi, Marley is all about giving young people the tools and confidence to thrive. He’s running the 10km, bringing that same energy and encouragement to race day.

We asked Marley what the Clyde Classic means to him:

I might be all the gear and no idea when it comes to running, but I know the Clyde Classic is about connection, challenge, and community, that’s why I’m in. I’m especially excited to be running alongside some of our rangatahi and soaking up the views, the vibes, and the victory snacks at the finish line.

Event Director, Clyde Classic Founder of Thymed Events

I started the Clyde Classic because I believe running events should bring people together, celebrate our community and give back. With support from local schools, sponsors and volunteers, this event has grown into something pretty special. I’ll be out on course making sure everything runs smoothly and hopefully enjoying a few of the finish-line smiles and high 5’s along the way.
